The portions of these writings come from a larger breadth of work trying to connect Biblical Ideas and Wisdom to cultural thoughts, song-lyrics and design concepts.

Humility looks like turning the other cheek.

But humility also looks like speaking life into death.

Let the ghost go graciously…

Don’t neglect the memories…

Learn from what has broken your heart.

Nothing is waste.

Let what must escape go.

If it’s bound to leave… if like a gypsy soul is “born for leaving”, then what use is clinging to it even harder?

Such clinching makes letting go “and getting over” much harder than it needs to be.

Letting go requires living simply, and trusting in a will/plan much bigger than your own.

  • Open up those hands.

Fists never make friends.

And you cannot punch a ghost, for it is no longer there.

That is, by definition, what a ghost is.

Wouldn’t the use of our hands in the process of building something new be a wiser use than punching at what has already fallen?

Dust blowing in the wind…

The vapor of the morning freeze is lost with the rising of the sun and its warmth. Mercies are new every morning.

Let the ghost be a ghost.

Let the wind blow as it will, but don’t neglect to notice which direction.

And in light of such observations… raise your sail. Chart the course for there is life to be charted in the waters ahead.

There are islands to be explored.

Treasures to be discovered.

Life cannot be lived while remaining in the haunting of the past.
